In my first high school day my teacher asked me in front of the class what’s the story behind my unusual name.
So I said with a grin that I am 50% hungarian 50% polish and a quarter romanian, or something to that extent. Everybody laughed not because of my joke but because they all tought that I don’t know that 50%+50%+25% is more than 100%
I was baffled at the situation that a cute witty joke was overlooked by everybody in favor of a rude conclusion.

On the bright side another high school misunderstanding, I was chatting loudly with friend Bogdan in the first row of the info class. The teacher was presenting something, I don’t know what algorithm… anyway she was onto something… and suddenly she asked me “so… what variable do you think, in this example, carries the result?” And I asked “Ce?” (what?). And she said “Exactly! You are right. It’s the C” She was very very happy that I was paying attention.
Looolz.
Oh the horror and the funny moments of high school…
